About

Built for kids who want to play, not queue

MatchOn 2.0 is a Sunday cricket development league for kids aged 8–16 in Indore. Central India's Premier 3-Month Cricket Development Journey for Kids.

Our mission

To give every kid in Indore a real cricket season — with assessment, a team, a jersey, fixtures, a points table and a final — instead of an endless string of casual games that never add up to anything. Three months, every Sunday, one clear journey from registration to a champion team.

Why MatchOn, in full

There is a wide gap between hobby sport and development. On one side, kids play a few overs in a lane or a society compound — enjoyable, but with no feedback, no progression and no consequence. On the other, traditional academies run on net time: kids queue for a handful of balls, drill in isolation and rarely play the actual game they signed up for.

MatchOn sits deliberately in between, and it is play-first. Kids are on a real ground, in a real match context, being coached while they play. That is where game sense comes from — knowing when to attack, how to build an innings, how to bowl to a plan, when to back up a throw.

The other half of the value is consistency. One protected Sunday morning a week for three months does something a one-off camp cannot: it builds stamina through repeated four-hour mornings, grit through matches that are actually won and lost, and confidence through being picked, trusted and given a role in a team.

And we keep it cricket-only. Every drill, every fixture, every award on this site is cricket. That focus is what lets a 9-year-old who could barely hold a stance in October walk out to open the batting in December.

The LTAD approach

Our curriculum follows the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model: kids develop in stages, and training should match the stage rather than rushing specialisation.

For the 8–12 group that means physical literacy first — running mechanics, agility, balance, coordination and fundamental movement, with cricket skills taught through games and tennis-ball cricket. Volume is low, variety is high, and nothing is loaded onto a growing body that it is not ready for.

For the 12–16 group we layer on hard-ball cricket, position-specific skill work, speed and acceleration, age-appropriate strength and injury-prevention routines, plus tactical work: reading match situations, captaincy and leadership.

Practically, LTAD is why our Sundays always open with an athletics block before skills, why bowling loads are capped by age group, and why the December league has a per-bowler over limit.

A note from the team

MatchOn was started by a small group of Indore cricketers, coaches and parents who were tired of watching talented kids drift away from the sport because nothing they played ever felt like it mattered. Season 1 ran on two grounds and a borrowed set of stumps. MatchOn 2.0 runs on five grounds with certified coaches, fitness trainers and a full auction and league structure — and the same idea behind it: give kids a season worth waking up at 6 AM for.
